Your Local Jupiter Chimney & Fireplace Team

One family-owned team for everything your chimney and fireplace need in Jupiter.

Jupiter sits where the Loxahatchee River meets the Atlantic, and that location is exactly why chimneys here take a beating. Salt air drifts well inland off the inlet, the humidity rarely lets up, and the summer storm season drives rain sideways into anything facing the coast. A chimney that looked fine a few seasons ago can quietly develop a rusted cap, a cracked crown, or a flashing leak long before a homeowner ever notices a stain on the ceiling. We built Chimney Brothers Co to catch those problems early and fix them right the first time.

We are a family-owned Florida team, and we treat Jupiter homes the way we would treat our own. That means showing up when we say we will, explaining what we find in plain language, and giving you honest, upfront pricing before any work begins. Whether you have a traditional masonry fireplace in an older home near the river or a prefab unit in a newer build out toward Abacoa, we handle the full range of work: chimney repair, sweeping and cleaning, inspections, leak and flashing repair, chimney caps, crown repair, full rebuilds, tuckpointing and masonry, and fireplace repair and installation.

Because we are local, we know what this stretch of Palm Beach County actually does to a chimney. We are not a national outfit reading your zip code off a screen. When you call (645) 224-9996, you are talking to people who understand coastal South Florida masonry, who offer free estimates, and who can often provide same-day service when something needs attention right away.

Chimney & Fireplace Care Built for Jupiter's Coast

Jupiter is really several different towns stacked together, and each one wears on a chimney in its own way. Out on the barrier island, around the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse and the homes lining the beach down toward Carlin Park, the salt mist coming off the inlet is relentless. It pits metal chimney caps and eats through flashing years faster than the same hardware would fail a few miles inland. If you can taste salt on the breeze from your driveway, your cap and flashing are the parts of your chimney aging fastest.

Cross back over the Intracoastal and the problem changes shape. In Abacoa and along the Indiantown Road corridor you get less direct salt but a full season of afternoon thunderstorms, and out in Jupiter Farms the larger lots and heavy oak and pine canopy mean shaded, slow-drying roofs where moisture lingers in the crown and mortar joints long after the rain stops. Those are the homes where we most often find hairline crown cracks and damp masonry rather than rusted-through caps. We match what we recommend to where your home actually sits rather than handing everyone the same checklist.

There is also a Jupiter rhythm to all this. This is a boating and golf town of well-kept homes where families settle in for the long haul, and a fireplace here earns its keep on a handful of genuinely cool evenings between December and February, not every night of a long winter. That makes the off-season the real risk: a chimney that bakes in heat, humidity, and salt for nine quiet months can hide a lot of damage. A proper inspection and cleaning before that first cool night is exactly the kind of seasonal check we handle for Jupiter homeowners.

Watch for the warning signs that Jupiter's climate brings on: rust streaks or staining on the chimney cap, white chalky residue on the brick, a musty or damp smell near the firebox, water marks on the ceiling or wall around the chimney, crumbling mortar joints, or pieces of the crown breaking loose. Any one of these means salt air or wind-driven rain has found a way in, and the longer it sits, the more it costs to repair. Call Chimney Brothers Co at (645) 224-9996 for a free estimate, honest pricing, and same-day service when it is available.

Jupiter Chimney & Fireplace Questions, Answered

Why do chimney caps and flashing fail so fast in Jupiter?

It comes down to salt air. Jupiter's closeness to the inlet and the Atlantic means a constant fine salt mist settles on rooftops, and that mist corrodes the metal in chimney caps and the flashing that seals the chimney to the roof. Homes on the barrier island and near the Loxahatchee River tend to see this fastest, but even inland Jupiter homes are not immune. We can replace a corroded cap or reseal failing flashing and recommend materials that hold up better against the coastal environment. Call (645) 224-9996 for a free estimate.

How often should a Jupiter homeowner have their chimney inspected?

We recommend an annual inspection for most Jupiter homes, ideally in the fall before the cooler weather arrives. Here the real risk is not constant winter use, it is the long, hot, humid off-season when a chimney sits idle and moisture quietly works into the crown, joints, and cap. An annual check catches salt corrosion, crown cracks, and small leaks while they are still inexpensive to fix. If your fireplace has not been looked at in a year or more, it is a good time to schedule. We offer free estimates and can often arrange same-day service.

I have water stains near my fireplace after a summer storm. What is happening?

During Jupiter's storm and hurricane season, rain is rarely vertical. Wind drives it sideways and forces it into any gap around the chimney, most often through failed flashing, a cracked crown, or a missing or corroded cap. The water then travels down inside the structure and shows up as stains on the ceiling or wall near the fireplace. The stain is the symptom; the leak is somewhere up top. We pinpoint the actual entry point and handle leak and flashing repair, crown repair, or cap replacement as needed so the next storm stays outside. Call (645) 224-9996.

Do you serve all of Jupiter, including Abacoa, Jupiter Farms, and the island?

Yes. As a local family-owned team, we work throughout Jupiter and the surrounding Palm Beach County, from the barrier-island and beachfront homes near the lighthouse to Abacoa, the Indiantown Road corridor, and the larger lots out in Jupiter Farms, along with neighboring areas like Tequesta. Because we know how the coastal and inland parts of town differ, we tailor our recommendations to where your home actually sits rather than giving everyone the same answer. Reach us at (645) 224-9996 for a free estimate anywhere in the Jupiter area.

My fireplace barely gets used in Florida. Is repair or maintenance really worth it?

It is, and arguably more so than in a colder climate. In Jupiter a fireplace might only see use on the cool evenings from December through February, which means it sits unused through many months of heat, humidity, and salt air. That idle time is exactly when corrosion, moisture, and masonry damage build up unnoticed. A cracked crown or a leak does not care whether you light fires often; it lets water into your home year-round. A modest inspection and any needed repair protect both the chimney and the surrounding structure. We give honest, upfront pricing and free estimates, so you will know exactly what is worth doing before any work starts.

Do you offer free estimates?

Yes — every job starts with a free, no-obligation on-site estimate and upfront pricing. No trip charge and no hidden fees.

How long does a typical chimney repair take?

It depends on the work. A sweep or inspection is usually done in one visit; a crown reseal, cap, or flashing repair is often same-day; a partial or full rebuild can take longer. We give you a clear timeframe with your estimate.

Do you work on prefab (factory-built) fireplaces too, or only masonry?

Both. We service traditional masonry chimneys and fireboxes as well as prefabricated, factory-built fireplace systems — including wood-burning and gas units.

My chimney failed a home inspection — can you help before closing?

Yes, that's one of the most common reasons people call us. We assess exactly what was flagged, explain what's actually needed, and give upfront pricing so you can move forward with your sale.

Do you clean up after the work?

Always. We protect the work area, contain soot and debris, and leave your home as clean as we found it — that's part of the job, not an extra.

How do I book or get a quote?

Call (645) 224-9996 or fill out the short form on this page. Same-day service is often available for urgent issues like an active leak.

How tall does a chimney have to be above the roof?

Chimneys shall extend not less than 2 feet higher than any portion of a building within 10 feet, but shall be not less than 3 feet above the highest point where the chimney passes through the roof. That is the exact wording of IRC section R1003.9, adopted verbatim as R1003.9 of the Florida Building Code, Residential. It is commonly called the 3-2-10 rule, and both conditions must be met at once, so whichever produces the greater height controls. The 10-foot measurement is horizontal and includes ridges, dormers, adjacent walls and nearby structures. Does salt air near the coast change what materials should be used on a chimney?

Yes, and the Florida Building Code recognizes it by grade. Florida Building Code, Residential sections R905.7.6.1.1 and R905.8.7.1.1 call for Type 304 stainless steel ring-shank nails for wood shingles and shakes, and specifically Type 316 for coastal areas. Type 316 stainless contains molybdenum and resists chloride attack better than Type 304, which is why it is the coastal specification. The same chloride exposure attacks every metal component on a chimney: the cap and spark arrestor screen, the counter flashing, the storm collar, the chase cover and a stainless liner. Galvanized steel components in particular have a short service life within sight of salt water. Source: Florida Building Code, Residential sections R905.7.6.1.1 and R905.8.7.1.1

How much does chimney repair cost in Jupiter?

The most common repairs range from around $150 for a cap replacement to $5,000 or more for flue relining, with most single repairs falling in the $300–$1,500 range in Florida. What a specific Jupiter job costs comes down to chimney height, roof access and pitch, and the condition of the crown and flashing, so we give a free on-site estimate with upfront pricing before any work begins. Chimney Conditions in Jupiter, Palm Beach County

Jupiter incorporated in 1925, but most of its housing is much newer, built during the westward push from the 1970s through the 2000s. Older cottages and midcentury houses cluster near the Loxahatchee River, Center Street and Cinquez Park, while Abacoa, Egret Landing and Jupiter Country Club date from the 1990s onward. Waterfront communities including Admirals Cove, Jonathan's Landing and Pennock Point front the river and the Intracoastal, and Jupiter Farms to the west is acreage. Concrete block with stucco is the norm and concrete and clay tile roofs are widespread, so chimneys are generally stuccoed chases rather than masonry stacks.

Jupiter has Atlantic frontage, the Jupiter Inlet and the Loxahatchee River, so a large share of its houses sit within a mile or two of salt water. Salt-laden air pits galvanized caps, spark arrestors and flashing well ahead of inland equivalents. Rainfall runs above 60 inches a year, with the wet season from May to October. Hurricanes Frances and Jeanne both came ashore on Hutchinson Island just to the north in September 2004, and Jeanne's rain caused locally severe flooding in Jupiter.
